What are stem cells?
Stem Cell lifting
The Stem Cell Lifting and Rejuvenation Treatment is a beauty treatment using micro-needle procedures, which are either a cylindrical-shaped drum studded roller or a micro-needle pen with multiple ultra-fine needles, to create microscopic holes or tiny dermal punctures in the skin. This helps to stimulate new tissue regeneration, elastin and the natural production of collagen fibres (neo-collagenesis). Stem cell lifting also forms new capillaries for improved blood supply (neo-angiogenesis) and allows for better penetration of active skincare ingredients (up to 200 times more product delivery).
This is an affordable alternative to medical anti-ageing treatments, without the harsh side effects. Together with using Stem Cell products daily will ensure younger, smoother, clearer, brighter looking skin.
In human skin, epithelial skin stem cells are located in the basal layer of the epidermis. Epidermal stem cells replenish and maintain the balance of cells within the skin tissue and regenerate tissue damages during injury. With age, the number of skin stem cells decreases and their ability to repair the skin becomes less efficient, eventually resulting in different signs of skin aging.
Therefore, we need to help protect against loss of their tissue regenerative capacity, and prevent premature aging by using a form of stem cell extracts.
Stem cells are derived from either plant, marine or fruit extracts. This particular treatment uses a liposomal preparation based on stem cell extracts from a rare Swiss apple species, which is well known for its excellent storability without shriveling. Scientists found that their stem cells are rich in epigenetic (gene expression or cellular type) factors and metabolites. It in turn triggers the skins stem cells driven potential for infinite regeneration, stimulating self renewal capacity of the skin and insures the longevity of the cells.
What are the benefits of Stem Cell Lifting?
Stem Cell Lifting aims to stimulate tissue regeneration and skin rejuvenation; it treats premature aging, wrinkles, pigmentation, skin discolouration, open pores and uneven dull lifeless skin.
It can be used on all skin types and at any age to help improve skin texture and prevent further aging. It protects the longevity of the skin stem cells, delays senescence (biological aging) of essential cells. It also combats chronological aging and preserves the youthful look and vitality of the skin.
How is Stem Cell Lifting different to other skin rejuvenation techniques?
The use of micro-needles allows the stimulation of new cells, allows penetration of stem cell extracts by up to 200%.
These stem cell extracts have a unique delivery by liposome encapsulation to stabilise the oil and water soluble components upon extraction. Liposome capsules are artificially prepared vesicles made of lipid bilayers. It can fuse with our cell membrane easily and deliver its contents into our cells directly.
What is involved in the procedure and does it hurt?
The skin is thoroughly cleaned with a stem cell facial wash. Stem cell extracts are applied to the skin and then stimulated with a micro-needle. This is followed with an instant soothing hyaluronic repair gel mask.
How many treatments are needed?
It is recommended to start with 2-3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Then depending on the skin, more treatments may be required. Results can be seen in 1-2 weeks and the process continues over the following months.
What to expect post-treatment?
The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short, fading quickly within hours of the treatment from a redness to pink, which may last 12-24 hours on average. The use of healing minerals, hyaluronic acid after procedures, plus a sunscreen, will protect the skin. Do not use AHAs, retinol or acidic active ingredients on the skin during the treatments. The Dermaquest post needling kit is best used after a treatment and together with the home care roller.
Are there any side-effects to Stem Cell Lifting?
Unlike cosmetic ablative techniques like lasers and fractional laser treatments, there are no side-effects, and unlike thermal heat (IPL and lasers) it’s safe to use on all skin types and skin colour. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. It is a safe and fairly painless procedure with a quick recovery time and no downtime from work.
Risks of post-op infections?
Since the tiny pricking channels close within minutes, post-op infections are very unlikely.
