How Gua Sha Works
Gua sha involves palpation and cutaneous stimulation in which the skin is pressed with a 'scraper'; that results in the appearance of small red patches. Sha means blood stasis, and once blood circulation is obstructed, illnesses are sure to follow.

Part of a holistic session
Gua sha is often incorporated into a wider Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment alongside acupuncture, cupping, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, Chinese massage (Tui Na) and lifestyle guidance. All of these modalities are used with the intention of promoting balance, relaxation, and general health. Every person is unique, and so is their path to wellness.
