Personalised Care Through Every Stage of A Woman’s Life
Maybe your periods have changed. You’re more tired than you used to be. Your sleep isn’t the same, your mood feels different, or you’ve noticed changes in your energy, digestion, skin or weight.
Perhaps you’re navigating fertility, motherhood, perimenopause or menopause — and wondering what may be contributing to the changes you’re experiencing.
Sometimes it isn’t one symptom that brings you looking for support. It’s the feeling that several things have changed at once — and you simply don’t feel quite like yourself anymore.
At Acupuncture & Beauty Centre, we take the time to listen to your story and look at the bigger picture — your cycle, symptoms, sleep, stress, digestion, nutrition, lifestyle and overall wellbeing.
Our personalised approach to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is centred around you as a whole person, not simply an individual symptom, with care available at our Sydney CBD and Fairfield clinics.
01
Understanding Your Hormonal Health
A woman’s health naturally changes throughout her lifetime.
From the reproductive years through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause, changes in hormones and life circumstances can affect how you feel physically and emotionally.
Your menstrual cycle can also provide useful information about your overall health.
Changes in cycle length, bleeding, pain, mood, energy, sleep or other symptoms may be worth discussing with an appropriately qualified health practitioner — particularly when they are new, persistent or affecting your quality of life.
Our role is to understand your individual presentation and provide care appropriate to your needs, while encouraging medical assessment or referral when required.

Areas of Women’s Health We Support
Women’s health can change throughout every stage of life, from the reproductive years through fertility, pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause. We commonly see women seeking support for menstrual and cycle concerns, PMS, PCOS, endometriosis-related symptoms, fertility and changing hormonal health.
Every woman’s experience is different, which is why your care is personalised around your individual symptoms, health history, lifestyle and stage of life.
03
Hormonal & Reproductive Health
Menstrual & Cycle Health
Your menstrual cycle is unique to you, and what is considered normal can vary between women and through different stages of life.
We take time to understand your cycle — including its length and regularity, bleeding patterns, discomfort, premenstrual changes and any other symptoms you may be experiencing.
Where appropriate, we also consider factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, digestion, exercise and lifestyle as part of your overall health picture.
Period Pain & Menstrual Symptoms
Some women experience cramping, lower abdominal or back discomfort, headaches, changes in bowel habits, fatigue or other symptoms around their period.
If menstrual symptoms are severe, worsening or interfering with everyday life, it is important that underlying causes are appropriately investigated.
Our consultations consider both your symptoms and broader health history so that your care can be personalised to you.
PMS & Premenstrual Changes
The days or weeks before a period can feel very different for every woman.
You may notice changes in mood, sleep, energy, appetite, breast tenderness, bloating, headaches or general wellbeing.
Rather than viewing these experiences in isolation, we look at your menstrual pattern alongside your overall health and lifestyle to build a more complete picture of what you are experiencing.
Irregular or Changing Cycles
Menstrual cycles can change for many reasons and at different stages of life.
Stress, lifestyle changes, reproductive life stage and underlying health conditions may all be relevant when understanding changes in your cycle.
If your periods have become irregular, unusually heavy or light, have stopped unexpectedly, or have changed significantly from what is normal for you, appropriate medical assessment may be recommended.
PCOS/PMOS Related Health Concerns
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can present differently from one woman to another and may involve changes in menstrual cycles, ovulation, skin, hair, metabolic health and fertility.
If you have been diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS, our approach considers your individual symptoms, general health, lifestyle and wellbeing alongside any care you are receiving from your GP or other healthcare practitioners.
We believe collaborative healthcare is particularly important when managing complex or ongoing health concerns.
Endometriosis-Related Symptoms
Endometriosis is a complex medical condition that requires appropriate medical diagnosis and management.
Women living with endometriosis may experience pelvic pain, painful periods and other symptoms that can significantly affect daily life.
Where women with endometriosis seek acupuncture or Chinese medicine care, we take their diagnosis, symptoms, medical treatment and overall health into consideration and work within an appropriate complementary-care framework.
Hormonal Changes Throughout Life
Women’s hormonal health is not limited to the reproductive years.
Your needs can change as you move through your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond.
Whether you are thinking about future fertility, navigating motherhood, noticing changes in your menstrual cycle or entering perimenopause and menopause, our approach is adapted to your individual stage of life.

Whole-Person Approach
Hormonal wellbeing does not exist in isolation.
Your menstrual cycle and how you feel can sit alongside many other aspects of health, including:
Sleep · Stress · Nutrition · Digestion · Movement · Energy · Lifestyle · Emotional Wellbeing · Reproductive Health
This is why your consultation goes beyond simply asking where you have pain or what symptom brought you through the door.
We take time to understand your health history, menstrual cycle, current symptoms, lifestyle and health goals before developing an individualised approach to your care.

FAQ
Can I have acupuncture during my period?
In many circumstances, acupuncture can be provided during menstruation. Your treatment will be tailored according to your individual health history, symptoms and presentation.
Do I need to track my menstrual cycle?
You do not have to, but information about your cycle can be useful when discussing menstrual and hormonal health. If you already use an app, diary or fertility-tracking method, you are welcome to bring that information to your consultation.
What information should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring any information you feel may be relevant, including recent blood tests, scans, diagnoses, medications, supplements and details about your menstrual cycle. This can help us understand your broader health picture.
How many acupuncture sessions will I need?
There is no single treatment schedule that is suitable for everyone. The frequency and number of appointments will depend on your individual circumstances, health concerns and goals. We can discuss this after your initial consultation and review your care along the way.
